Sup guys....thinking of building a 350 Buick for my 66 Skylark...easy install?....Headers?? (from what) I'm sure there is much more that can be done to the 350 engine vs the 340 so thats what I'm looking to do but I don't want a night mare on my hands, I've found one 350 on Ebay but I'm watching the trade papers around here for a complete car to pull one from.
It should just bolt right in...Should use the same frame mounts as the 340...As for headers, I don't know, but there should be plenty of room for them...I would think the 68 and later Skylark 350 headers should fit without any problem... Unless you want to switch over to the internally reg. alt, just use the 340's alt...There won't be any re-wiring to do...If you have a/c in your 66, I would use the 340 a/c and alt brackets...Swap the later model power steering pump and brackets in...Direct bolt-in... If you are still running the switch-pitch tranny, then you will need to figure out how to mount the electrical switch-pitch switch to the intake... Other than that, it should be a fairly straight-forward easy swap...
The 350 install will be pretty easy. The headers will need a little work in a couple of places on the frame due to the narrower frame on your 66. The 350's did not come out till 68 and by then, the frames were slightly wider. Jim Burek
