mark - that dog looks exactly like a friend of mine's...his is a chihuahua, though. must jst be the face. on that note, here's a disturbing picture of my dalmation sleeping. i'll post some normal ones of him and my weimaraner later.
Leo Chowpalski Well I just had to get Leo in on this. Leo is a Chow/golden (guessing) mix. I found him when he was about one month old about 13 years ago when he was just a little furr ball sticking out of a Hardee's lunchbag at our back dock at closing time. He was so absorbed in checking the bag out for scraps I was able to sneak up on him and grab him by the ole pink puppy tummy.Little turkey even tried to bite me, but after finding out from the local store owner where he came from and that the "owner" (druggy) was mistreating the devil out of the pups I understood Leo's reaction. He did not move one inch for two days, I carried him everywhere at my company, and at night for the first week my wife held him all during the night, sleeping in the recliner. The vet got him all back in shape, and eventually he didn't squint and duck when you reached out to pet him (was beaten pretty bad prior). He really has been a blessing, and even went so far as to corner a thief who snuck into our offices one day.Didn't lay a tooth on the guy, but he was showing everyone he had as the guy pleaded for someone to come help him  Best dog I ever had and was my late Fathers favorite "Ole buddy" too.
OH Ooooooooooooo Here's one more of Leo with his business face on. Friendly looking beast isn't he? I think this was the day I was asking him to ride in the back so I could put my "valuable" junk yard parts in the saftey of the cab. I decided I "valued" my life more!ou: Believe it or not he was kidding here, as I can talk him into simulated "guard mode".
We just adopted a puppy from the shelter the other day, so I figured I'd revive this thread. Take a look at Emma, our new australian cattle dog/mutt! Ain't she cute??
BIG EARS Ok, how about an in-focus picture... Here she is with my other cattle dog Edison. We're helping him show off how big his ears are... just like hers!
ok. one more... One more. Here she is the day after we got her home from the shelter... still has the helmet on from being at the vet to get fixed...
Ethan, Congrats on your new buddy. I'm still laughing about the first shot at the start of your post on your dogs "looking drunk". Looks like the canine version of "Dogs Gone Wild" or something:laugh:
This is child number one- Camille, a 5 year old mix between greyhound and yellow lab. She was my old roomates dog, and when he was between apartments he spent over $3000 on kennels for her. When he moved in with me, I noticed I was always taking care of her so he gave her to me. It will be 3 years in Jan 2004. Fastest dog I ever met!!! But you can't tell that from the photo!!! Also, VERY VERY violent towards other dogs, she hasn't lost a fight yet!!!
Child number 2- PJ. PJ was living under my friends porch when we found her-she was a scant 4 months old. So dirty, I had to wash her twice in a row, and she came home in the Skylark. She is 3 years old. She got loose the next day, got hit by a car and amazingly- nothing happened. Her and Camille are now inseparable, and are partners in pooping. Actually my soon to be wife, Stacy and I call them Poops. She is the most "nutso" dog I have had so far, and altough she is 50 lbs insisted on climbing on my lap as I was typing this reply!!!
