I'm attempting to pilfer parts off of a '64 LeSabre 300. Already found the rare oil pan, now I need the rare frame mounts for the motor. The only X-frame application of the Small Block father of my V6. I love the styling of the center 60's LeSabres and a smallblock TH400 4dr would be are great daily cruiser if I lived in Texas or elsewhere in the South again.
Right now I wish I had a LeSabre...because I don't know if my 62 Electra will fit in my garage. Since I moved to Camp Pendleton in July I have been looking forward to getting a house on base with a garage I could park my Buick in. Now, I have a house on base with a garage, but the Electra might be too big to fit. :eek2: ray: Brian
I had a 69 LeSabre that I bought in college and could get 20+ mpg with it (350 2bbl) blasting back and forth to school. That was when I was younger and had a heavier foot. I'm sure I could even do better now with a lighter foot and a better knowledge of tuning. I'm not sure what it was about that car, but it handled great compared to similar cars in the snow, as well. It didn't have an option on it, and was rather plain compared to the Riv I've got now, but I really liked that car. Nick
LeSabres may be red headed, but they're not step children! I love my two, and that's that. Sure they're not as common as the a-bodies, nor in the Riv group, but who cares? It's kinda funny actually; they're the unique cars in the already unique Buick family! Ok, this doesn't relate, but I just wanted to use the money smiley face!! :dollar:
My First Buick was a 65 Wildcat Vert. Just two days I picked up a 66 Lesabre and I cant wait to restore this beautiful car. I am a GM fan and my buick was one of the best rides ever. I am sure this new 66 will too.
A 67 Lesabre was my first car, and it would HAUL A*S! It had a 340 4BBL, and one time I was paced by a Charger at 140 MPH-- down a big hill. Still, it was a runner! Fond memories here!
