I'm on the hunt for a quality LED headlight conversion kit. It's been several years since I've messed with LED headlights, and to be honest, with less than stellar results. I know Holley has a great kit out now, but it's rather pricey. I'm sure the products on the market now are better than what I was experimenting with 5 years ago. So what is everyone running?

Following. Holley’s Retrobrites are the only ones I’ve seen that don’t look derpy, but I’d like to hear from someone who’s used them. They are pricey snd Holley’s reputation has suffered lately…

You can buy a set of hella glass lenses for h4 conversion. $ 42 each on Amazon. I then used Auxbeam fanless LED bulbs. It all fit together with no issues. The LED bulbs draw very little power, so no relays required. All in maybe 120 bucks. The only thing you will notice is the hella lenses have a flat front surface not a typical t3 convex shape. It’s super bright and in 15 minutes I could convert back to T3. Nothing is cut or messed with, all plug and play. One other minor item is that you do need the headlight switch to be in good order, if that has dirty contacts you could see an LED flicker over bumps, that would not be obvious on an old T3.

I had my 70 GS converted to the Holley LED head lights. Well worth the price and they look like the original T3's.
Because i'am 74 and my night vision is not what it used to be, my mechanic wired the high beams to light-up all four headlights at the same times.

I love these headlights, bright and appear to be original.
You know what they say, you get what they pay for.
I also run a Holley 4150, 750cfm carburator. Runs great. It's has mechanical secondaries, no big, just get-up and go.

As far as U.S. products slipping in quality, I had to replace my brand new MSD ignition system after a month of use.

I was very disappointed, Holley quickly replaced it. However, I've noticed the QC process is slipping with U.S. manufactures. This is not my first mishap.

So, I need two H4 bulbs and two H7 bulbs? Or, if I wanted to run all 4 bulbs on high beam, 4 H4 bulbs?

I used the items listed above for LED light over two years no issues. I purchased everything from Amazon.

Not the bulbs, just the housings. Use the LED bulb.

I can't recall if hella has both high and low beam lenses, the locating pins are different between original high and low beams so folks didn't mix them up. You just need a pair of Hella lenses and 2 LED bulbs. Honestly you get zero or close to zero out of converting the high beams. The LED low beams will be nice and bright, for the darkest night. If you need high beams the existing installed lights will add plenty of extra light. Most passerbys will not notice the old vs new lights unless they stare. The purists will notice but so be it. Here is a quick pic.

I guess it depends on how often you use your high beams. Out here, I use them a lot. Like, if no one is coming they are on! I found the LED high beams to be much brighter than the OEM bulbs. I used the same lense for both high and low, but the bulb has a second element for the high.
