for some reason it randomly came into my head that it would be pretty neat to give my smallblock a little shot of juice. ;)

NOS sells qjet plate kits adjustable from 50-150hp shots for about $400. that's pretty dang cheap for even 50hp.

but anyway, would you power-adder guys say it's safe to run just a 50-75hp wet shot of nitrous on a stock bottom end? it's a fairly low-milage rebuild with clean cylinders and good compression. CR is probably at 9.75:1 (SP 350 with later heads and composite gaskets). .469"/.469", 268*/268* on the cam grind. not really a nitrous grind, but hey, i'm just talking a tiny bit of extra oomph here.:pp headers and free-flowing exhaust. stock intake. i might go to a TA stage1 and an 800 qjet, not sure.

would you guys consider this safe without any major mods? i'd assume a good fuel pump would be in order, along with a few degrees less on the timing.

i'm only brainstorming here, but this seems like an easy way into the 13's. not bad for a worthless smallblock...:spank: don't need instructions, just looking for some info to chew on. thanks guys.

    sbbuick My driving scares people!

Read the Nitrous threads below if you haven't already. I'd go up to 125 HP and have fun. It is safe if you have the 3/8" fuel lines and a good AC fuel pump. I ran the 125HP non adjustable plate with a stock bottom end 1968 block with over 100K miles - with very FUN results!

    Go for it :)

My Brother had a 71 Skylark with a 2 barrel, single exhaust with a 308 Posi with a 125 shot he ran a 13.77 in the quarter mile I forget the MPH's. He loved it.He had to sell it for lack of room but took the kit off before he sold it. I say go for it just don't get greedy:TU:. almost forgot thats with a 350.

It was an N.O.S. system with an optional 2 barrel plate. He also upgraded the stock mech. fuel pump with I think, a Poston unit.:Smarty:
