"Lathe Balancing"

    Basically, you balance the crank and flywheel as a unit to eliminate the need for a harmonic balancer.

    Anyone ever try something like this with a BBB?

    Well, except for the fact that the guy refers to the "flywheel" a hundred times when, in fact, it looks to me like it is really a flex plate, it seems interesting. He does mention that the balancer is left on. Which I think needs to be done to cancel the harmonics caused from the reciprocating assembly. I'm not aware of any modern engine that doesn't have one.

    Anyone?
