Weather has finally broke, so we're out of the 100s for now. ...was cruisining around about 2 in the afternoon today, windows down just enjoying the slight rumble of the engine...the cool 77 degree breeze. No worries just cruisin. Caught a red light in left lane, an altima in the right...windows down (thankfully no music blaring) arm out the window... could tell he was enjoying the temps also. Light turned green. I pause, wasn't looking for a race but he waits ~1 second with me till I start to roll. He gets on it hard. I gradually lay into it. So we're fender to fender. Finally half way through the intesection, I drop it to the floor. Secondaries pop open and my car just walks away. At 50mph I'm off it. guy in altima stays back but is pacing. I had to make a left into my neighbor hood...altima guy honks with a thumbs up... beautiful day, good sportsman ship...who could ask for anything more.

Glad he showed some class. IIRC the 98 Altima was a 2.4 liter engine. They sell turbo kits for them and can be nasty critters. In stock form they are 15-16 sec 1/4 mile cars with a m/t. Not too shabby for a luxobarge to beat one. :)

good one black 70. i have one from today. my friend just bought a 69 ford gt with the 351(poor guy)and we were out at the car show today (locally),so as we were leaving onto the four lane i was about 5 cars ahead when i looked back to see where my friend was when i notice he was coming on hard in the gt so i nail it to the floor bark the tires(about 30mph) and the closest he could get was to my rear quarter and my 72 gs pull away fairly easy. then we went about two or three miles going about 55mph when he pull up along side again and step on it and again the gs ran away from the ford:spank: . i am lovin this:grin: . i slowed down so he could catch up,i looked over at him and just smiled:laugh: . i had been wanting this for the last three months.

HA! Awesome stories guys. Love it when the other guy is a good sport. Also love it when good ole' American iron takes the cake over the over-hyped tuners. Not to be ignorant to them or anything, they can be nasty! But in my experience stock American cubic inches beat stock tuners, and modded American cubic inches beat similarly modded tuners. Sure you can dump more money into a four banger and make it scoot better than a V8, but who cant make a motor faster with more mods and money? All that said though, my friend's supercharged 5-speed Cobalt is a mean little thing, and i cant wait to get a big block built to run against it! (I dont tease him cause he drove a 454 Chevelle before the Cobalt, and in his words theres "absolutly no comparison. Everything that supercharged 5-speed can do, that 3-speed auto, peg leg 454 can do at half throttle") xD

    Kudos guys!
