FOR SALE $35 plus shippingBought and installed these on my 70 GS. Decided to go a different way. I estimate they have between 2000 and 3000 miles on them. I really didn't pay attention to the mileage but they were on the car for about 5-6weeks. Here is the product description from Summit where I bought them or this link to view yourself. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/lak-40120 Summit Racing Part Number: LAK-40120 UPC: 084041401200 Internal Design: Monotube Adjustable: Yes Gas Charged: No Extended Length (in): 13.440 in. Lakewood combined their experience and the latest technology in drag racing to develop shocks and struts that are superior to all other drag shocks and struts available. They will provide the correct weight transfer on the initial launch and then bring the front-end down quickly for aerodynamic purposes. This transfer will result in lower ETs and keep the rear-end loaded for maximum traction.
Im curious why you initially decided on these shocks and what negative effects did you observe with these shocks for street driving performance?
I like a really stiff suspension. These didn't allow me to feel the road like I wanted. Softer toward the pavement and stiffer away. They were an impulse buy, I just didn't pay close enough attention to detail when I read the product description and when I got them on I realized the 70/30 was up/down not down/up. I ended up with coil spring extenders to stiffen the springs and adjustable shocks to get the feel I was looking for. I hope this helps.
Thanks, I think I'm going to hold off on these for now as I don't have the full set up sorted out yet. Ill keep watching this.
Jeff, I have a 70 GSX clone. I went with Chevelle 454 springs. More stiff, and sets a bit taller in the front by approx two inches sitting still.Spence
