Well, it took waaaaaay more effort on our part than I felt was necessary, but my daily pestering of the contractors to do things the right way (basically MY way) paid off. There were too many "small issues" that arose daily, but they were handled. It has taken over 6 months, and there are a couple things we aren't happy with, but overall the results are spectacular. Wifey and I designed every single aspect of this job - the kitchen planner provided ZERO input. These shots are taken from very similar positions inside the house. before:
We removed the wall you are looking at in the 1st photo. It separated the kitchen and dining room. Now we have one huge eat-in kitchen.
Dang, you're one of those rich fellas, aren't you? :Brow: I couldn't even get a straight bid for granite countertops out of several contractors, so I gave up. Dealing with contractors is a PITA!!! :af: Looks excellent!!!! :TU:
You can see the sliding glass doors and the window. The window was reduced in size to make way for cabinets.
The small doorway was opened up to match the wide doorway on the left in these pics. The new doorway is on the right in the "after" pic, but I don't think it is too visible. Again, the wall on the left in this before shot is gone. before
Looks good, man! I know it took way more time, effort, and energy on your part than anticipated. The result is awesome! :TU:
Again, the wall on the right here (this pic is taken from the old dining room side) is gone, revealing a full view of the old kitchen side of the room in the after pic.
Finally, here is a close-up of the tile mural we designed for under the range hood and over the cooktop. The color is off in this photo, the tile is snow white and the border is gray with "chrome" accents
Frank, You need to look again at the picture :Brow:  Jeff, It looks fanfreakintastic :TU: :TU: :beer :beer Beth
