Not sure how old she is now but Olivia DeHaviland is still alive. She was in Gone With the Wind...1939
Good call. Her family was also quite involved with British aircraft design and construction. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olivia_de_Havilland
Does anyone here remember Baby Peggy? She was the Shirley Temple of the 1920s. And she's still alive at 101. She became a has-been at the age of 7 and later became a writer and historian. I cannot recommend her autobiography enough. One of my favorite books. It's a wonderful glimpse at early Hollywood, with its lights and shadows. https://www.amazon.com/What-Ever-Happened-Baby-Peggy/dp/0312147600
Probably the most notable of de Havilland's aircraft were the Mosquito, a mostly plywood and highly successful twin-engine high performance light bomber and observation aircraft. It was one of the fastest piston airplanes of WW2. Another famous de Havilland aircraft was the Comet - the first successful commercial jet airliner (after some severe teething pains that were caused by structural issues involving the design of the cabin windows). The problem was corrected and the Comet had a long service life used mainly as a freighter.
