anyone out there run a BG KING DEMON dommy? I am looking into a new carb just looking for feedback. have always had good luck with holleys but am curious.
Demon Adam, my motor guy just dynoed a big chevy 540 with one and had nothing but trouble. the thing was way fat then way lean no matter what he did the thing wouldnt come around. so he called barry grant they said it was his dyno not the carb (the dyno is only 6 months old) so he pulled it off and put on a stock holley hp dom. and the # were great i think it was about 27 hp over the demon. i hope this helped you out.
I have a race demon rs..... these caburetors are so tunable, it will make your head spin. I havn't played with mine yet, but I don't see how you couldn't make the carb fit the bill. There are alot accessories to be had to tailor them to your need. this carb can be made from a 650 to a 1050, different types of boosters, metering blocks are adjustuble with different bleeds. this can be very overwhelming, when you are not used to having these options. Bg sells a book just for these carbs that teaches you the ins a outs. I believe it should have com WITH the carb. could be way above the average joes head(or mine)
Demon Adam, I didnt ask what your running for a carb now,but on my car im running a stock holley 9375 DOM. its not even an HP its the older style.Dont know if you know my car its the teal green tubbed 67 GS (THE TORQUENSOVER) THE MOTOR IS A 468 STAGE 1 IT IS THE 2nd FASTEST STAGE 1 ON THE PLANET !!!!!! Car with driver is 3250# the car has run 9.57 @ 138.96 THE 60ft IS 1.30 the only faster Stage 1 is Rob Cs car its run 9.43 @ 140.I know ill get alot of feed back for this but who cares (I MEAN REAL STAGE 1 IRON HEADS) So i think the HP HOLLEY would be a good carb for you. thanks JOHN 2002 GS nats SUPER 16 @ KING OF THE HILL WINNER
John right now it is a h.p. 1000 4150 I tried a 1150 dominator but didn't have a very good adapter it was just a last minute thing so no tuning I have to bite the bullet and buy my own. The dominator was too close to the stock hood so a stage 2 scoop and glass hood is on the way.I have heard good and bad about the demons very split on the opinions, always hear good about holley.It seems demons are either the best or worst carbs anyone has ever tried?? :3gears:
i believe this is reason for the wide deviation in reviews. the vast abount of setup in some these carbs may acually make it hard to set up correctly.
