Hi all, I picked up a 79 th-400 from a caddy, to use in my 70 gs. The kickdown switch on the tranny only has one terminal, instead of two. I take it , that it picks up a ground elsewhere. Will it work to just hook up the one wire from the car's harness?

Don't worry about the second terminal, it's a later model setup for a TCS solenoid (transmission controlled spark) which prevents vacuum advance except in high gear.

Just leave the TCS terminal disabled, as your application needs nothing to do with it. Run the detent (kickdown, downshift) wire from the switch and you're good to go.
