Kia Spectra GSX-Talk about ripping off the name of the Buick GSX I recently saw one of these junks in front of me while traveling. As I followed closer,I saw a series of 3 letters ending in an X. Upon closer inspection,I saw it spelled GSX-what a ripoff of a great Buick icon! Kia even went so far as to copy the small GS and then the large X on the badge!! I can't believe it! I'm surprised Kia is allowed to use that moniker, because it is in no way anywhere near the level of the Buick GSX(of course). I thought GM had copyrights on their models? Just goes to show you what car manufacturers will put on their cars nowadays to sell them......
I've seen alot of imports w/ GS on them, and now kia has a GSX model? :spank: I've heard that some of them don't mean the same, but still all I can say is none of those cars are no where near as cool or as powerful as buicks GS or GSX model. :af:
They even do it to themselves. Don't you think it was good marketing on the part of Hyundai to pick that name? It probably sounds different, and even means something different, to the Japs. But they know what other car company it sounds like to Americans (at least the ones that see a price tag of "$4.99" and don't automatically see $5).
there are a few other vehicles that use the GSX badge. the 1st and 2nd gen eclipses used the GSX designation for their turbocharger AWD car. i know one motorcycle (forget right off hand) uses the GSX badge on theirs as well. i havent seen them on the car your talking about.
Suzuki is the motorcycle manufacturer... for their "R" series of bikes. Pretty mean bikes, too, if you like those sort of rides. Kia Spectra GSX
