I just got my new KB valve covers today and maybe I was expecting to much. They spent two weeks getting polished yet there are many areas on them that don't look like they've been touched at all let alone polished. Is this normal? Also the bottom rear bolt hole looks to be way off center? I haven't tried to mount them yet so that may be needed??

I'll try to post some pics but I'm not sure if they will show what I'm talking about.:Do No: :Do No:

I have both a new and old set . I will look.

For your application will you be drilling out the rear hole on the drivers side. If so are you going to get a machine shop to do it?

Thanks for looking Jim, yes I am going to have to Drill at least one hole and maybe two. Is it best to have a machine shop drill them? I've searched and found several pics of the covers installed and It looks like everyone goes with a breather on the Passengers side rear and then drills the front and rear of the drivers side for an oil filler cap and another breather. Any suggestions on how to drill these or where would be great. They already have one hole drilled, it's to small to fit the filler cap and the tabs are ground away from the underside. I can post a pic of what I'm talking about if that helps?:TU:

Here's a couple of better pictures, I'd like to know what you think of the pre-drilled hole? Can I mount that on the drivers side and Drill the rear of it for a breather? Does it look like I could find an aftermarket oil filler cap to work? Is there an advantage to having a breather on the other side?:Do No:

Mine are the same . I am running a stock ram air cleaner so I am going to have a machine shop drill out the rear hole for the fitting to which the vent to the air cleaner attaches.

Ok cool, Thanks for taking a look for me Jim..I think I'm going to set them up the same, I may try to find a breather type filler cap like John suggested. Then I won't have to drill at all and I can just cap the aircleaner hole.
