I bought these and was going to use them on my 400 motor but the oiling is different. They are nice. $500.00 shipped in the lower 48 states.Sold
Topless64-455 Are these new or used? Is there a part # to tell if they are 1.55 or1.6? Can you give more info please Thank You Greg
I have not used them but they it think they were used when I bought them but they dont look used alot if so. How would I tell if they are bushed? Where would there be a model of part number?
if you slide one off you will see if they have a bronze bushing or a needle roller bearing that rides on the shaft.
It's been almost thirty years since I had a KB catalog in hand, but memory says 1.6:1 was the ratio offered for their big block roller rockers. Devon
if there is no bushing, they are the first design kb's.had some along time ago.have heard they gall on the shafts if oil breaks down.? should be fine.
Too confirm, can you take a picture with rocker bore side shot. No bushing or Bronze insert? What type of spring and retainer , push rod will these 1.6 Ratio fit? only Kenny- Bell Looked all over web, but no KB buick books avail from 80,s Greg
Here are a couple of pictures of the rocker and the shaft it was on. They look new. The are 2 oiling holes and a groove let the TA cam bearings for oiling. I dont see any numbers except on the washer that has V S I 203.
Have a Question for motor rebuilder experts How long will these last with a big Cam before they will be woren out? Never seen a set with out rollers or Bronze bushings. Would these be proto type pieces? all replies will be helpful Greg
They are the early KB rockers. Later ones used the bushings. All that era rockers were 1.6's. I used them for many thousands of miles but they do wear the shaft some and the rockers start to wear just like factory aluminum on the steel shaft. If you're not going to drive 10's of thousands of miles then they should work fine. If there is no wear showing on the shafts then they must be new.
Thanks Mike you are the second person to tell me the rockers are 1.6 and early style without the bronze bushing. They are like the 67-69 aluminum rockers on BBB except they are oiled through the push rods and not the rocker shafts.
