I want to check the charging connections on a '72 Electra, and the wiring diagram shows several junction points for the positive circuit which are on the engine compartment side of the firewall. One is from the alternator 'BAT' terminal to the alternator #2(?) terminal, and the others are the two fusible links from the positive starter battery lead to this same harness. Are these inside the tape wrapped section? I had a '72 Olds, and these point were on a junction block mounted on the firewall which were very easy to identify and clean. Thanks.

All the splice connections are taped in the harness,a nd the leads branch out to the different components. I would not worry abou the splices since they are soldered well. The fuse links are the two leads coming off the Bat post on the starter. One supplies power to the headlight circuit only, and the other is for all the vehicle power. Sometimes these get saturated with oil and breakdown. Hope this helps.
