So were the Constibles really called and sniffing out the scene ???

This one almost reminds me of the stripe-job at BG a few years ago by a Turbo guy at the host hotel right across the ornate brick work :eek2: :Do No: :3gears:

Sorry, I may be out on my own on this one but I can't sit back and not comment.
IMHO that was one mindless stunt. If this would have been someone in anything other than a Buick everyone would have been all over it saying things like "What was the moron thinking? "That thing could have gotten away from him and plowed into one of our cars."
The fact that the FD and cops had to be called is ridiculous.
Burnouts are great guys but lets grow up a little here.

sorry guys but I think that stunt was plain wrong. A burnout in a public parking lot during the day? Under the hotel canopy? In the least it can scare the crap outta women, children and old folks. Worst case someone could get hurt. It also gives gearheads and Buick guys a bad reputation. I'm about as crazy as you can get when it comes to stunts but that one was stupid. How would Johnno feel if some old guy had a heart attack and died because he thought the Hotel was on fire? I wouldn't want that on my conscience. If I owned that Hotel I sure wouldn't want my guests to experience that. They might not return. I also wouldn't want my parking lot defaced with black marks. It looks trashy and I might also lose business from that. There are laws against such actions for a reason.

    Not taking sides, but....

It could be argued that if you didnt piss a few people off, you didnt do it right

I laughed at the pics, but I have to somewhat agree with the naysayers. An incident like this will definately leave a bad taste in the hotel managements' mouths (literally and figuratively). We don't want the towns hosting Buick events to change their minds about us (which they will). How do I know? Daytona Beach sponsors special events all year long. The locals, via newpapers, TV and radio - do talk when things get out of hand. Now, Johhnos' burnout is not the same thing as MTV spring break of 1989, (which finally got the city of Daytona Beach reject MTV promotions from that point forward) - but it's a start.

The hotel management has to look at those marks for a long frickin time. Well after the novelty and humor is gone. If it were some backroad then Go For It! A hotel canopy? Well, I'd think twice.

    My $.02

I thought it was kinda cool myself, awesome Johnno, keep them tires screamin'!

I think burnouts in public places are a nice contribution, especially when you are pissed at them. :3gears:

John you may want to buy stock in your favorite tire company.

Or build your own water trap.

In my early day it was all about burnouts. I rigged up a washer tank in the trunk with wiper spray nozzles for each tire. I started out spraying oil. Good smoke, bad on tires. Then I went to using 50/50 mix of pink laundry soap and water. Great smoke with little tire wear. People never caught on till I told them how I did mile long burnouts everywhere and still had tires left.

It also leaves a nice wet spot if you run it a sec before launch.
"Officer I didn't see the water and it just broke lose."

    Hey Ron,
Have your own business? Then all you have to do is take that blue ride of yours out into the parking lot, lay down a couple of nice long black stripes and a ton of smoke in broad daylight and then you can come back and tell us how it didn't impact any customers present, your neighbors, the F.D. and the cops who are going to pay you a visit. That is after you come out of hiding after doing it. Better yet let a kid in a ricer do it and then we can watch you rant.
You can just bet that word gets around and there will be cops hanging around the hotels during the Buick events and then we can read the posts here of everybody whinning about being hassled by the cops.
Car Craft used to have a name for guys who do this....they were referred to as street squirrels. The ones who ended up attracting the cops.
Again, I have no problem with an awesome burnout. But it was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

    Not cool at all.

    Exactly!
    See my avator?
    An unpopulated area.

We Buick owners claim to "Go Fast with Class".
This is a clear case of "Going Fast without Class"!
I look at this and think, "you are how old?" I am sure everyone at the motel in was real impressed.

This is the kind of thing I would expect from a teenager in a jacked up Nova, not someone driving a Buick.
