JC Whitney 68 Skylark lower quarter panel

(Not sure if link worked, if not copy and paste)

Has anyone ever used these partial quarter panels from JC Whitney? For $100, a side, it is the most reasonable option I have found for the rust issues on my 68 skylark (wheel well lip and lower rear quarter). I called JCW up and asked for a picture of the actual part, and they said that they order them from someone else and didn't have any pics. They told me there distributor was Cross Canada Parts. I couldn't find partial quarters on there site? What I want to know is if you have used them and what is the quality of the panel, specifically the wheel well lip?
    Thanks, Steve

Most likely it won't have the lip you are talking about, and is going to be a simple skin needing to be butt welded just before the factory welds which will not solve the typical rust between seams. A good fabricator can patch the rust concerns you are likely faced with. NPD (National Parts Depot)sells skins for alot of old GM's , but I think they could be factory style panels saved by trimming because of some defect. Unfortunately they don't have nice complete panels for Buicks. Not even patch panels for that matter. If you are doing the work yourself, consider buying an outer wheelhouse from a bodystyle similar to yours, make a wheel house patch out of that..will have the same lip with a slightly different contour which can be re-shapped ($60 or so for the whole part. leftovers good for other things) and a similar shaped piece, perhaps a door skin for the Quarter patches. About the same price as a qtr skin but all from a reputable place...not JCW
