I'm with you, I remember when everyone put dakota digital in every hot rod in the mid 90's and just thought it was cool. now that they've never changed the look it looks very dated. I'm waiting for the programable LCD screen kinda like skins for a software application. -nate
I think it looks kinda cool- my caddy has the full digital and the ability to call up any info plus warnings IS handy- and no more gauges hung under the dash!! Robert
I saw one at Musclepalooza X at Englishtown this year in a Chebby powered Skylark. The ca was nice and the dash looked OK. I wasn't sure if I really liked it, but looked easy to read.. The owner said his car was built from 6 different cars and was a street strip machine /cruiser. So originality was never a factor.
I always thought it would be neat to have digitial dash BUT ONLY if it looked stock when shut off (ie, integrate the digital parts into the background somehow so they were just black when power off). Lets face it the old dash indicators are not the most accurate...and only on a rodded car too. It doesn't help the rest of the dash assy looks like crap.
