Shocking that nobody wants to make a quick profit here! A one billion, eight hundred fifty million dollar car for just $300K? :error:

The GSCA published that many moons ago. I believe they were sold/given out at one of the nationals back in the '80's, but can't really remember.

Actually I remember that the list of the 50 fastest came out in MCR magazine. I think late 80's or early 90's A well healed invester was building a collection of the fifty fastest for a museum.

That chart was compiled by and published by the the magazine called Musclecar Review back in the late '80's or early '90's. The times were obtained by locating the fastest tested times as published by automotive magazines when the cars were new. Motor Trend (MT) has the fastest tested time published for a '70 GS Stage 1 - the 13.38 ET - which is what is shown in this list. I rememer this well because my Dad had just given me his '70 Stage 1 and I was in high school at the time and ruled the high school auto scene. I was asked to do a burn out for the year book and my GS did not disapoint, either, with a set of Dad's old snow tires as donors ... but that's another story.

This 50 Fastest list was augmented over time by adding modern musclecars for comparisons. I think this list came out shortly after the Roy Badie vs. Richard Lassiter original Hemi vs. Buick race and high-lighted historic automobile tests confirming - surprising to some - how fast the Stage 1's could run. I have the original MCR edition in a box.

A board member was selling very nice prints of that poster on here not too long ago. I purchased a few copies.

I'll admit that I do like the all white interior.

HEMMMM, I thought in one of the many posts on this car that the new owner had it sold for 125 thou (or something like that), the sale must have fallen through.

Or was that just one of his Plans to HYPE the price up. The $50,000 profit he was making after buying it at the Mecum Auction apparently was not enough.
