Well I have finally got the GS motor done. :beer It runs perfect. I want to express thanks to all the people on this board for the help. Especially Dave at T/A and Jim at PAE. I have been saving for a year for the rebuild and got all the parts I would need over that time. Well here is a run down of what I did. The motor is a 68 Buick 400 bored to a 430 standard. The motor is completly balanced and blue printed. The heads are 69. I am running full length 2" primary with 3.5" collector headers with 2.5" flowmaster exhaust all the way back. The ignition system is a Mallory COMP 9000 with the Hyfire ignition box. I am running a Offy intake with a carb spacer and a re-jetted Holley 750 with a 50cc pump and adj. secondaries. The cam is a Comp Cams as is the lifters and timing chain and push rods. All the internal bolts were replaced with ARP studs. The fan was replaced with an electric fan as well. I also rebuilt the tranny myself and installed a stage 2 shift kit as well as a 2000 stall converter. I also installed a Stage 2 scoop on the hood. I am going to go to Redding next month and have it Dyno'd and will give all the good stuff on that then.

Thanks again and I will get a pic up as soon as I get the film developed.

  2. Wow! Sounds nice. Would be especially interested to find out what the cam, and other engine build specs are, and how the results come out on the dyno. I have a couple of stock 430's so I'm curious the bang/buck ratio for the bolt-on items. :Brow:

    Congratulations on your project!
