Lee Zane runner'd up with his 73 Buick Apollo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an awsome weekend with my two boys (7 and 9).

It was a long weekend and I now have to get about 3 hours sleep and go to work so tomorrow will be long also.

    Awsome Hotel!!!!

I can't thank you enough for helping me get that room. At only $51.50 per night including taxes, it was cheap. The rooms were big, including the bathroom, and very clean

And to top it off they served a full free breakfast!

Did you go to the race?

It was so awsome to watch my boys as they each would pull for one of the drivers in either lane. I usually would pull for the driver that they didn't pick and since there were so many upsets in first round I won quite a few.

I hope we can go back next year.

Thanks again for hooking me up.

I pulled in the driveway at 12:49! I unloaded some stuff while the boys slept a few more minutes. I got Brian out and he took a shower, but Jamie wasn't going for it. So he went to school smelling like nitro and goodyear rubber!

I am sure he still had some black specks of rubber on him.

Needless to say on Monday night we all went to bed a little earlier.

Ann didn't say a thing about getting home so late and hasn't given me the cold shoulder either. She must have been trying to show her :moonu: when she told me the kids "would have to be home at 10 PM". She probably already knew that I was going to get home late. She's not dumb. The weekend was well worth the lack of sleep. :3gears:

Glad you had a good time. I didn't make it, but maybe next year. Nothing like quality time with the kids.

I didn't know whick was better to watch, the action on the track or the kids smiling from ear to ear and picking who was going to win.

There was one boy about Jamies age (7) who started whining and crying after the first top fuel car ran. He couldn't stand the noise and kept pulling out his ear plugs as his dad got madder. My boys (with ear protection) kept looking at him like he was such a wimp. I kind of felt sorry for him. My boys didn't like it the first time either but they didn't cry and got used to it.

My boy would probably hate it. He hates loud noises. Cares nothing for cars either. He is still young, but if he never grows to like them, he will probably be money ahead. I dreamed of cars and trucks since diapers and it never has gotten me anywhere other than the bank for loans. Have a good one.

    How old is your son?

It's been almost 2 years ago that I had Jamie in my lap and Brian in the passenger seat of the red stage 1 doing a massive burnout. Leaving two holes in the new asphalt in our subdivision and two very long tire tracks. We drove back around to our house and Brian just had to show my mother-in-law the tire smoke as it was still rising up.

They still talk about it today and want to do more.

He will be 6 soon. He likes a little burst of speed in the ole GS sometimes, but once it's over, he never mentions it again. Never pays attention to my old cars, farm trucks, tractors, heavy equip....... Nothing like I was. Heck, I was driving a 2 ton dump truck at 11! Who knows, he may start liking them one day.
