Finally the day arrived. I was determined to get my new stage 2 headed 464 running as it has been installed and ready to ride for a 6 months already. Body has a lot of work to do but at least I know that engine runs. Engine started without problems but soon I discovered that carb gets some extra air and doesnt mix the fuel as it should. Probably its caused by a fact that carb has been laying in my garage for a 6 months already and is oxydated a bit. Also my SP1 has some extra bolt holes for smaller carb and my carb doesnt cover these holes, thats one problem for air leak. Anyway now I know that it runs and soon after the paintwork I get to ride it soon :birthday: Some vids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idMtLilSEpE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkcGF4H2VT0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_22vZyoXOeU
Got some paint on it now, gold has always been my favorite:TU: Also tried the tranny for first time, shifts nice and smoothly, got some traction issues obviously:3gears: Vid: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERJwfhPSDuY
Hey Neil, how you've been. Have'nt started to install the glass yet but I'm sure it'll fit fine, although I had to practically fabricate new window frames. Still looking for quarter window moldings though. Car has TA "Gibson 110" cam.
gotta love the 73s & 74s. I want one but will have to wait till the wagon is done. Love the sound of that, Veljo. can't wait to see her done. Tim
Well, got my car on the streets now. There are a lot of work to do with interior and exterior but I wanted to drive it before the winter comes. Car is perfect street animal, it drives very smoothly and goes nuts when I touch the throttle :TU: I also attended my first race for streetcars and managed to win it with best ET 11.8 (car weighs about 4000 lbs) which is very good considering that we don't have special drag tracks here in Estonia, we race on unprepped old airfields on bare concrete and it's very hard to get some grip. On my best run I had about 100 metres wheel spin so on better track I think low 11-s are possible. Will add some videos later. Here is one before and after pic and some from track.
Here are two vids from the race: 1st - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUqfEpSVTA4 This one was against BMW 850 on street tires so he didn't stand a chance. At the middle of the track I discovered that 3rd gear doesnt work, engine was in rev limiter at the end later I found out that problem was caused by a two low oil level in tranny, added few litres and it got better, still I think that in some reason 3rd gear is slipping too much. 2nd - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvtjFekuXE8 This was against BMW 550 with twin-turbo and nitrous. 3rd gear still slipping.
vlzman Loved the videos, car looks great!:TU: It looks like a lot of fun racing on such a wide areea. In the video it looked like you were heating the tires inside the water box. Try and only spin the tires a couple of revolutions while in the water, then roll forward out of the box, stop again, and do your burn out. The reason for this is that when you do the burn out in the water, water gets all inside the wheel wells. This water can drip onto the tires when your waiting to go and it will cause you to lose traction. Can't wait till my car is finished.
I like the car and the color:bglasses: Sorry the pics are a few years old. The gold with vinal roof is a 4 speed (most optioned?) The other is the pure stock T code in the low 13's now.
P.S. My P/S car weighs 4350 Lbs with me and a half tank of gas. Love those cars.:3gears: :3gears: :TU:
