I was crawling under my 68 electra and saw this dent that looks like it should be there but I think it may be leaking. Should there be a screw in it?

It is hard to tell but is that a pic of the frame? If so is the pic of a drain hole?

I believe that is the convertor cover shield. The leak is probably from either the rear main seal or the front pump seal in the transmission. What color is the fluid thats leaking???Red will be tranny fluid.I'd consider traking the pan off and hammering the hole shut. Then welding it.

    Front Transmission Cover

If that is a cover that scews (4 screws) to the front part of the transmission and you see fluid coming from there then the problem is as posted earlier and need to see if its transmission fluid or engine oil. Eather leak will require removing the engine or transmission to fix this correctly. As far as the holes in the pan, I wouldn't recommend sealing them up, AL.

There is supposed to be a hole in the bottom center of the flywheel cover. More like a slit than a hole.
