    George,
I would first make sure your car is grounded real well. Check battery cables for corrosion, then the engine ground strap, and after that the headlight grounds, horn wires and ignition ground. I had a similar problem that nearly drove me crazy, until I finally isolated the problem down to my ignition switch not being properly grounded. This was solved with advise from this great bunch of car lovers here on this forum. They have talked me through most of my headaches with my GS. Take care and let us know what you find. Remember, you are not alone here. Good hunting George.

    George,
When I towed my car from the back yard where it had been setting for 10 years, it had no ignition switch, and no brakes. When I started to work on it, the first thing I did was to put in an ignition switch that I bought from my local parts store. After I got the car ready to run It was discovered that the area of the ignition switch where the switch goes in the dash was bent to the point that I had to fabricate a press assembly to mash the metal back straight so as to make full contact with the metal on the back side of the dash with the ignition switch. I am not sure if I can explain it well enough, but the bottom line was after I did that the car started. I nearly drove this bunch crazy giving me things to try. I am glad your problem was no more than a regulater. Take care George.
