All of you are complete idiots. The 71 GS455 is actually a rarely optioned (code W932339281239291834231299218backwardsR...4332) 1971 Toyota Corolla. A savvy salesperson could order one between the hours of 2 and 3 am each Tuesday night. The Corolla would be delivered via ship to a secret port in Los Angeles. There it would be shipped by Lama back to Flint. They would be carefully modified the "Gangley Sheep" (GS) workers in complete darkness. This is explains why a 1971 Corolla could operate on the identical oil, gas, coolant, and air as the Buick GS. Coincindence? I think not people...I think not.
Let's wait for board member Ken Cotrona coming with a better story........ (I bet he's still waiting for sushi ?)
note A note, the W1 code GS trim on the Special did not include hood scoops but the chrome hood spear. Also while the 66 SKYLARK GRAN SPORT had a seperate vin, the 67 was the first year to break completly away from the Skylark name and was GS
We all know that Buick considered the GS a seperate model, but the fact remains, that when you go into a parts store, alot of the parts catalogs lump the GS, and Skylark together I can remember lots of times when ordering parts at the counter, where the catalog, or computer didn't have Gran Sport in it. Had to order for a Skylark.
