No difference from what I believe. The only thing now is all the new stuff is transparent. Kinda stupid move if you ask me as it's harder to tell if there's a leak or, to tell the difference between water/condensation.

If I had to change antifreeze in my car I would use the same that is in my Peterbilt. Caterpillar makes an antifreeze with the conditioners mixed in, along with the water. I believe it may have a 500,000 mile life expectancy but, I will have to check to be sure. With diesels, the liners can be drastically effected if the right stuff isn't in there. So, that's why I would feel safer with the CAT antifreeze.

there are a couple of companys that make the a/f for everybody. just relabeled and colored. beware of the 50/50 a/f, pricewise.

This what I use anymore. I get mine cheap at work...  I use the diesel antifreeze as it works in our Macks with no ill effects and it protects that aluminum radiator as well. I also use the old recycled stuff to load my tractor tires..

Is it just plain old entholineglycol ( thats not how its spelled ) but you get the idea. The stuff that came out was yellow/green , I'm assuming i gotta put that back in?

i believe that dow chemical produces "prestone" anti-freeze unless of course dow sold it off.
any difference in brand versus brand would be in the additives.

Just use the normal green stuff. Ethylene Glycol. Or I use the non toxic green stuff, Propylene Glycol.

Either will work as long as you maintain a 60-40 ratio of antifreeze to water.

The only difference I see is that Walmart probably pay worker in Bangladesh to make it at a whopping salary of 5 cents per hour. Prestone pays it's workers enough to support families. Just my initial thought

In my general experience, anything that's toxic works better than anything non-toxic- and that goes beyond antifreeze, like paint stripper, etc. If it has a skull and crossbones on the label, it'll do a better job. :TU:

they sell the toxic stuff as its cheaper

the amsoil antifreeze is the non toxic stuff and even if i bought it at dealer cost it's still alot more then prestone or the other brands
