Is a 4000 stall OK with lock up or low stall?

Anyone who is running the PAE 4000/1500 converter have any comments? In a heavy car with a 3000-6000 RPM combo, will 4000 be too high if the converter can be locked up? Or would it be a barrell of monkies?
    Thanx.

Is that for the car in your .sig? If so, the TA 212 and 3.73 gears might be a weird combo for that convertor.

Is this a street/strip car, where you need the low stall?

Yup, weird combo but then again it's a weird car....and a super weird drive...

    Thanx guys.

Well, I think we got the 3000 stall convertere taken care of. So the 4000 stall one (that does have lock up) will go on the back burner. I wanted to get the car running with the 3000 stall before the 4000 stall lock up auction ends, but I don't think that will happen. But I can't afford the starting bid on the 4l80e one anyhow ($700 - ouch my keester). A 4000 stall with a 212 cam would be a bit of an Osama combo, but I am building it around the 455 I am building.

    Thanx guys.

    I love you Len.

When I had the TA212, it was great a low-end torque. I am afraid that with a 3000 RPM convertor, you will be missing the best part of your torque curve...

Could be right Bobc, the 212 is no race cam. But it does pull hard to 6k, and at this point it is either that or the stocker, which is 13" 's and as heavy as an elephant.

    thanx
