I need some advise. 65 skylark, bone stock except i just found a cast 4bbl intake to put on (only took a year of looking ). My friends has an edelbrock 500 cfm carb hey's trying to sell me for $75. He said it was too small for his 350 . Do you guys think it's too small for my 300? The car is just a cruiser, it'll never race it, the only other mod i'm going to do is hei.
    Thanks in advance
    Dan

according to Carmen Faso the stock afb 4 barrel carb on the 300 and 340 engines was only 400 cfm.

Dan, I ran a 500 cfm carter on my 455 (to get it through emissions, shhh keep that on the down-low) and it worked ok, not great but it did run. I would think you'd need to be running a pretty hot motor to need more than that. just my 2 cents :TU:
