Has anyone ever touched up or repainted the metal (lower) part of the dash in colors besides black? I am looking for a matching paint to touch up a couple of scratches on my burnished saddle (dark brown) dash. I know the paint must be flat. Legendary pointed me to a company in NJ- Color Correct, but they want $175 a can which is very expensive.

There may be an equivalent "Chevy" paint out there. That is how I solved my similar issue.

I don't know the exact paint code- it is the burnished saddle used in 1970- the Legendary code is 658G. I have a paint chip chart but that may be only for the exterior burnished saddle color and not the interior but I will check it and respond later. I really need both the vinyl paint (dye) as well as the dark brown flat paint for the metal part of the dash. I found a can of Krylon flat brown that looks close but need to test to see how close.

I had a GTO years ago with the same color interior so a Chevy paint may be the way to go. Does anyone know what the color or code is for the Chevy?

Interior color code is on the cowl tag. Look for a number after the "TR"

The local Pep Boys auto parts stores around here have a good selection of interior paints in rattle cans. Many GM colors to choose from.

If you go to Marco's site, you can get the exact Ditzler code. I found that only PPG has mixing formulas for those interior codes. We have one paint dist here in Orlando that could find them. There are multiple sheens. The upper parts get the "0" gloss and the lower parts get the 30%. Some of them are lacquer paint codes and are not cheap. I think I paid about 40.00 for the lacquer on mine for 8 oz.. I think it was the "0" gloss. If you cannot figure it out, I can help you. Send a PM.

Guys, I have covered this a hundred times here. Those of you that said use the Ppg you are correct. Get the code and call APS tower paints in Wisconsin and tell them it is Gm interior lacquer in spray cans. They do a great job matching the paint. Get both gloss levels. I have used their products on many cars with no complaints. And they are relatively reasonable. Just make sure you do not paint in the sun. Pep boys is on no way ever going to match Buick Burnished saddle or any other unique Buick interior color except for black.

If you look at the Ditzler(same codes as PPG) as shown on the Stage-1 registry site it looks like they call burnished saddle either dark brown or dark saddle for 70. Match the code from your interior code on your trim tag and you can match to the chart then look at far right and it will give you the paint mixing code.
