    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

Rings being "clocked" is like an "urban legend".

Rings can and will "walk" (spin around the piston), or they won't. One, or all, can move or not, and it really does not matter.

Getting anal about ring clocking, while overlooking things that truly matter, (like cleaning that block 20 more times..... before assembly, correct use of torque wrench, understanding what and why you are doing (or not doing) things during assembly, break in, post break in, and the first 500 miles....)

You either know, or you don't. No shame in not knowing, but no pass is given to those that won't admit what they don't know, and asking and accepting the "free" knowledge of those that do know.

Manufactures know their products. Follow their docs.
Buick shop manuals, the engineers did a ton of research, design, testing an implementation, and after, the innovators (over years of experience) found out what the engineers might have missed. And then, the innovators who made/modified parts, found even more things missed by the previous two. And upon this truth, we arrive to this point, and then add to those that will encounter all of this "tomorrow".

Each of us only own the moment we are in, those past brought us here, those in front will see a different place. I just hope all experience the love we all share in the journey.

(for all who are no longer with us, but are a great part of us, even though we never realized their impact on us.)
