You can't run Mopar pistons in a 455.

There are custom pistons available in a .038" overbore that use a Mopar 440 ring set. This is what they were talking about.

Not sure if your talking about the 9sec. GSX that was on or not, but I swore they said it was bored .007 to use Mopar pistons:confused: Would .007 get you to a mopar bore size or did they goof on they're info? I might have heard it wrong but I thought I had heard of using Mopar pistons before.

They did say on the show mopar pistons. WHat they did on the engine was bore the block .007 which would allow them to use a standard mopar 440 size piston ring pack. The 440 mopar is a 4.32 bore. Jim Burek P.A.E. ENTERPRISES

OK I'll bite. why can't you use the pistons if you can use the rings? does it have something to do with pin height or do the skirts cause a clearance problem with the crank?

Pin heigth is different, pin diameter is different, rod length is different. Jim Burek P.A.E.ENTERPRISES
