    I have a 73 riv, with a 40 over 455.

What intake would be better a edelbrock performer or a SP1?

It's 9.8:1 compression, mildly ported 71 stage 1 heads, a poston gs113 cam(0.490 lift, 288/246dur@50lift, 113 lobe sep. 108centerline), I have a 3000stall and 3.73:1 rear gears, ported manifolds(soon to be TA headers) and dual 21/4 pipes with a crossover and flowmaster 2chambers.What intake would be better a edelbrock performer or a SP1?

I would like to retaine the stock hood(I don't know if this is a issue)

    There is no other hood.
i have the s-divider, didn't have enough room for a 1 inch carb spacer, (so i made a 5/8 inch one.) with a quadrajet and the factory air cleaner.
i think the sp 1 is a little taller ?.

I think you can use the SP1 if you get a drop base air cleaner.

On my GS the factory air cleaner just hits the hood with the SP1. Again, not sure about the Rivs hood clearance.
