    Hello everyone!

I am close to reinstalling my intake manifold and QJet on my 69 Buick GS 430.
I’ve degreased/blasted/painted the intake manifold and valve covers and will have all new hoses/parts etc. for replacement. I’m going valley pan, stock parts and opted out of any porting.

I’m almost finished rebuilding the QJet (yikes!) and will have done all the suggested modifications/parts replacements and will be keeping her pretty close to stock.

Big question, any recommendations/tips/hints prior to putting it all back together?

    Thank you all so much!

When I go to start a fresh re built (dry) carb I make sure to get some fuel in the brown for a quick start.

Electric pump will do it for you but

If you have a mechanical pump you can use a squeeze bottle to pour some fuel into the bowl vent just in front of the primary bores.

Its not really necessary but I do like a quick start up.

Great point. Easily something I would have overlooked!

Do a search on intake manifold end rails - most folks use the Right Stuff instead of the rubber piece.

12lives, are you saying that I shouldn’t use the rubber pieces? I’m using a valley pan and the rubber gaskets pieces that come with it.

I did the metal gasket/valley pan with the other black RTV by Permatex (I think it's called Superblack or something) for the end seals, when I put the Performer intake on the 400. Just test fit the manifold with gasket(dry and no bolts) first and you'll know how tall to make the bead. After you lay the bead of sealant on there, give it some set-up time before you drop the intake on it. I have had no issues with it leaking so far.
