I am using ARP black oxide intake bolts, looking at thier website they do not list a 455 aplication so they must just happen to be the same as another application. I thought i bought them from TA a long time ago.

I think what it is, is that ARP makes them exclusively for TA Performance. I bought mine from TA, and they do say ARP on them in fine print, and they do look good and don't gouge the aluminum.

And it seems like there was a discussion about stainless a little while back, the thing I remember is that most stainless is not Grade 8. Might be worth doing a search.

Stainless is softer. It will snap if over torqued and will probably expand more than a moly bolt when heat is introduced. I'm very leary of SS bolts that require a fair amount of torque.

    Stainless is certainly weaker!

I bought the ARP's from TA and had them chrome plated.:Brow:

TA has GRADE 8 equivelant stainless intake bolts for 455's. We also have them for the timing cover/water pump and exhaust manifolds. Like mentioned, regular stainless is softer, do not use standard stainless hardware or it will twist when torqued. Here is a link.
