Am am hesistant to install the bathtub type valley pan gasket on aluminum heads...seems crazy to think that way, since I use it with no worries already with iron heads, but an aluminum intake.

I have always used the valley pan to avoid oil splash, never used a composite type.

What are the advantages of the composite gaskets?

Better sealing. But you need either the AM&P drop in splash shield or TA's under intake mount shield.

They look better if that means anything! The big plus is they come in at least a couple of thicknesses. Thus if you have cut your heads/manifold or decked the block you have some options.Jim Weise makes the under-intake manifold shield as well.

Use your old metal intake to cut your own valley pan. Trim it to fit
just under the exhaust crossover ports, then use the soft intake gaskets like normal.
