Currently i was givven a 455 from a buddy of mine ... it has the performer intake to match the 218 duration camshaft ......

when its time for the rebuild i was going to throw in from a 235-245(still undecided) duration camshaft

i wasthinking about going single plain

Anyone use the new SPX from TA? is it better then the sp1

Anyone use the Offenhauser dual-quad? That would be nice also for look but does it perform as good as 2 carbs look?

match intake choice to your gears and stall first! then to the rpm range. also match your cam to your setup. unless you have 355 gears stick with a single plane.

My 3000 S/P is SWEET! two trannys in one! my set up is a 462, zero decked 11 to 1, polished and peened rods. Stage 1 heads, stainless valves and dual springs, with the bowls and combustion cambers ported and polished, the runner are port matched and just cleaned up. mild 232- 246 duration cam,SP1 intake ,1 7/8 headers, 373 gears, full 2 1/2 exhaust. the rest of the car is stock, stage 1 fuel pump, 800 Qjet. before i DRIVE TO THE TRACK, i have to put on my street slicks, put about 15 lbs. in my airbag on the right rear ,and pump the octane up to 95 to be safe for dedtonation at high rpm. The trailered cars just love to get beat by me. im hoping to hit under 12.15 this fall on a cool night.i know i am looseing alot of E.T. sucking hot air with the stock hood, next year i might try a skylark hood with a scoop, i think i could get 11's with some cool air down the carb.
