Had to change out the dash cluster to swap guages - added new bulbs and headlight switch while I was at it - now that everything is back in place the instrument lamp fuse blows as soon as the pos cable touches the battery. Everything wired back the way it came off and no loose connections. Headlights work, idiot lights work - no dash lights. Any ideas?
Not much it can be except a short somewhere. If you're sure nothing is loose, maybe the dimmer that's part of the headlight switch is the culprit. You could check and make sure the bulbs you put in are not somehow doing it. I'd double-check everything, though.
