    RE: 70 GSX

Does anyone know of a source to have the plastic cluster rechromed and painted to look like new?

Also need source for restoring black dash pad - mine is cracked in the middle.

    Thanks

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

I have been using www.mrgusa.com with no problems.
Others here have had problems with them.

There is another place but I can not remember the name. Someone will let you know what it is.

As for the dash, buy another one.

Just Dashes in Calif will do it but be seated when they tell you a price.

You might want to check out PDXMIKE on the bezel

Check out PDXMIKE on this board.
I think he can possibly help you.
I have seen some of his and they are nicer than NOS.

I once read a post somewhere on here I believe, about doing the dash pad over yourself.. that it's a lot easier than it sounds.. - And believe me anything is easier for me than handing over $550 to JustDashes (good thing I was sitting down). I have yet to try it though, just because the car had been sitting and I haven't really had the time. Didn't wanna rush thru it and screw it up, and then set fire to the car for ruining it, now did I? :blast:

Anyway, as far as instrument panels go, I've recently had a lot of different prices thrown at me.

When I had my 85 Monte Carlo I had a place in Los Angeles turn my speedometer into a 140MPH speedometer. Top notch work it. their website is www.speedometerplus.com

So now, I recently e-mailed them in regard to my 71 Riviera's instrument cluster. It's dull and faded. Just needs a reconditioning, no repairs to the mechanical parts of it.

This is what they had to say:

"The Price to repair yourinstrument cluster bright is $85.00 + $9.95 for shipping & handling.
All repairs have 1 year warranty.
The price is for wear & tear and good for 30 days. "

THE COMPETITION says: (worthy to think about)
WE can resilkscreen your instrument panel for $375 or, if its just faded
a bit we may be able to give the dial faces an acid bath and reseal them
    for $125.

    and SOMEONE ELSE SAID:
Greetings and thanks for the inquire. Just a ball park estimate could be around 500 to 600 dollars.

    WOW
