Anybody have good ideas in installing seatbelts in a '55 Special? I haven't seen too much on the installing of regular seatbelts on cars that didn't have them OE. Just regular lap belts, not three points.

Lap belts are pretty straightforward. I installed some in a '58 Thunderbird I used to have. Three point belts are more complicated, since you've got to find a good anchoring point for the shoulderbelt that's structurally sound and ideally doesn't look half bad. Another thing to consider is that vintage folding seats, like the front seats in a coupe, usually don't lock in place and the seat back with come flying forward under heavy braking.

If you've really concerned you might consider finding some modern seats with integrated shoulder belts and fitting them, but you'll need some sound structure in any home-made brackets holding the seat to the floor or the seatbelts will be worthless!

I installed 3 sets in the back seat of my '63 Cat. It's pretty simple and straight forward. All are lap belts. If anyone can follow directions I can. Hell they even had pictures!!
