I am looking for some guidence on installing the msd6a. The wire that needs to supply power to the msd6a box requires a switched 12 volts. Tech Support at msd suggested to hook it to the + wire that goes to the coil, but it only reads approx 5 volts, and my understanding is that it is a resistor wire. So, any suggestions on where the lead should come from? Or directly to the fuse box?
    Thanks-- Rich

You were right not wanting to attach to the old coil wire. It won't let the box function properly. You need to either remove the resistor wire completely (by replacing the wire hint:a bunch of work) or run a new wire from the right side of your fuse box that is only engerized when the key is on.

It would be better to run a #10 wire.
