Go to a parts store and get a product called Door Ease. It is a giant stick of dry film lubricant that looks like a crayon.

Apply the Door Ease to all the body parts that use a press on or a snap on molding.

Then, use a small piece of soft wood (like pine), and carefully press the trim on.

This method prevents skiving the paint, and protects the body parts from rust.

My body shop told me about theo method, and it works great.

    moldings

Do not use wood on the drip rail moldings.use the door ease and slip the molding over the upper edge first then push down & in with your thumbs the molding will lock into place. wood will leave a mark in the moldings.been there done that.

Any sort of lubricant is going to help them slide on easier - I used a thin coating of wheel bearing grease. Once you get them positioned, drop the top over the drip rail and they should snap into place with a gentle push. Start at the rear and work forward. As Bill stated - never use a wood block ! :TU:

    door ease help

Does any of the chain stores carry Door Ease? I am having trouble finding it locally. I found it all over the internet mail order, but I would like to get it locally.

    thanks in advance
