The glass of my inside mirror has some stains despite all the rest is very nice (chrome, grey plastic seal, knob for day/night). Is there a way to change the glass only, and if yes, where to find one ? Thanks.
I have changed many. You need to get your old one resilvered. It is beveled and not flat glass. I can show you how to change them.
He really can. I have even done 2 and I am a retired lawyer. Anybody can do it if I can. It makes car look finished.
By saying that, you mean a Lawyer is unable to deal with mechanics, or that it is some how illegal to change a mirror by yourself ?
It means I had to get advice from an Engineering Major from NCSU which I hated to do. The results are worth my groveling.
I hate it when that happens! That had to be hard to do  Jim, I need to do this also, can you post a tutorial?
Is that one correct ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7976372073&category=33699
The non map light guide mirrors are reproed. The map light mirrors are not. If you want to keep the map light feature you will have to redo your own mirror. I was hoping to post a little show and tell on this for JW to include in the BPG online news letter. I will see what he would like to do.
Need to look again, but I am almost sure my mirror has no map light. Just the day/night switch as the ebay one shows.
Make sure it is a Guide mirror repro. Almost all Chevelle suppliers carry them. Foe example Ausleys and Hinshaws. If you do not have the map light feature the repro is the way to go.
