Just pulled the plugs out of the riviera. .r44ts putting the new ones in r44ts. No dot in front of the "R" seem to be slightly different dimensions(overall the threads and length into the cylinder seem the same). Is this an issue or not? Both are AC DELCO.
no issue with the plugs, trevor. I attended the show in chatham today. over 500 cars spread all over the area on/off king street. I actually located the current owner of a 1969 green impala that my father owned in the 1980s. I spoke to him for a few minutes and gave him some history of the car.
Glad you made it Gerry. I didn't. Things fell apart late Thursday when I was pulling spark plugs. 6 of 8 wires separated from the connectors so I decided to get new wires. (they were 10 years old anyway.) So I ordered some from Crappy Tire. They were Champion and they are terrible. 90 degree boots for the distributer on universal straight wires cut to length. Fit was terrible, so I have to take them back.
According to an article in High Performance Pontiac, Delco closed their last plug plant a few years ago, and all their stuff now is made by Denso. I have some Rapidfire 1's that came from Doraville Assembly Plant in the '80s or early '90s, and they look completely different from what my warehouse stocks now. Haven't compared any R43TS yet; they may differ, too. Patrick.
Rule #1 Never buy parts from crappy trash:shock: They are for soap and garden tools. Find a small independent parts store in Your area with an old Guy behind the counter and make Him Your friend.:beer Just My 2cents.
do u have a napa or carquest store in chatham? check with either. I buy my plugs & wires from rockauto because I live in Windsor and can zip across the border for pickup at a local ups store.
