    Mike,
I didn't even use the particle board. You know that pressed sawdust stuff? That's what I used..:bla: the real cheap stuff.. :TU:

    Bruce ,
Yeh I remember you couldn't afford the good cheap stuff . Didn't you soak it in water so it would bend and conform to the curves of the arm rests . Did you get the stick on woodgrain or leave it natural ?

    What?

A little buffing, bit of varnish - good as new!

I am going to use bark from a tree for mine. I just can't decide to go with the thinner Birch or with the really heavy Oak stuff.

Most of us worry about rust , he needs to worry about termites .

    Racing Balsa!

Oak may be suitable for your basic land yacht arm rests and bar, but if you take performance seriously, you'll want "Racing Balsa" for your custom interior - available at your local Home Depot and other fine stores:TU:

The Racing Balsa should work pretty good , durability is questionable :Dou:
Give thought to the wood grain contact paper , should be about the same weight . :Do No:

Well Bruce now that you do mention it my door panels do have wood grain as does the dash and console , BUT the General put it there . The 2x6 rear spoiler you made for your car , did you use treated or untreated wood ?

    Mike,
I followed your instructions and the schematic that you sent me to the "T". It looks pretty good on the back of my boat... Oh instead of 10 penny nails I used railroad spikes and gorilla glue. :Brow: I did use untreated wood.

Bruce you need to ask Lowe's if they have any old or damaged wood in TREATED instead of untreated . But being an old Buick the untreated wood will probably outlast the car , hehe.
