Hello all, I recently purchased a 72 Skylark Custom which might look familiar to some as the previous owner is member here and the car was advertised here. https://www.v8buick.com/index.php?t...stom-special-order-car-with-455-th400.390159/ I had the car shipped from Washington to Massachusetts a couple of weeks ago and it is now in my garage along side my 70 Monte Carlo awaiting spring. No big changes planned, just some detailing here and there. Frank Cape Cod
Glad the sale went well and the car is now resting in an east coast home. Would love to see it at the BG Nationals in May. By the way, since it sold with a pair of MT drag redials, did the seller disclose what kind of 1/4 mile times it ran? Looks like a pretty high horsepower drivetrain.
It's great to read that this great great looking car found a good home. As Ray mentioned, it sure would be great to see it as the Buick GS Nationals (open to all types of Buicks) in May 2024.
I didn't ask for the drag radials, I would likely never use them and not having them will keep me out of trouble. I also didn't ask, but should have, the 1/4 times but it does have a healthy 455. I won't be able to make the 2024 GS Nationals due to some other commitments but will definitely consider it the following year. I am planning to bring it to the NSRA street rods show in York, PA in June and possibly to the Goodguys show in Dover, DE.
Congrats Frank. I chatted with Brent several times including last spring about the Skylark. Unfortunately for me, at that time he did not want to sell and by the time he did in September/October, I had already put tens of thousands of dollars into my home during the summers months so I could not financially swing the Skylark. I really would've loved to own it but the timing just did not work in my favor. I'm glad to know that it found a loving home. I hope you have a blast with it!
What a great car! You lucky dog. My wife's people were sugar beet farmers in Moses Lake Washington back in the day. Welcome and congratulations!
thanks for the welcome. Tonight I started digging into the extra parts and documentation that came with the car. It's clear that it was a special car and taken very good care of by the former owner, @StageTwo, based on 3 file folder full of receipts, articles, and notes. I hope to be a good caretaker of the car.
Welcome Frank from Nortb Attleboro! Excellent score! That car is beautiful!!! congrats and welcome to the fold
George, we're practically neighbors, (give or take)! I'm looking forward to attending any local Buick events. Maybe we will run into each other at Sunday morning cruise in Plymouth in the spring?
