Gotta be up bright n early for a 90 minute drive out to the track. Just fuelled up and grabbing a burrito. Then back to the workshop/home to bolt on my ET Streets, check the oil , and verify Im getting full throttle. Nostalgia here is pre-76. Theres another 6 entries in the US Muscle category, I got a late entry in to be 7th. Theres 3 Qualifying runs in the morning, then a break and lunch cruise for the show cars, probably pit mine in the show area for double exposure. Went to Greazefest today, some nice cars, music , and stalls. Ill throw some pix up now. Then some more tomorrow. After lunch theres 3 rounds of racing for each class in Chicago Shootout, then the finals. All my strip action to date has been test n tunes and club days. The Buicks run my personal best on 4 wheels of 13.8@98mph. Once Ive had my 3 qualifiers Ill have to nominate a dial-in. Probably 13.8, unless I run quicker in my qualifying. anyway, some Greazefest pix
Yeah mate! but just discovered Im missing the F41 Chassis braces! and yeah that a 1959 FC Holden Station Sedan, or wagon as we call em commonly,. a GM product by GMH, chop top and canted door pillars and lotz more Kustom mods I chopped one up with an oxy 30 yrs ago...
dialled in at 13.85 ..ran 13.892 got beat by .02 dropped my dial in to 13.87 for 2nd round Oh and I won Best Muscle Car in the Show n Shine I was entered in too
Yeah, not much in it hey! Last round I dropped .02 off my dial in to 13.87, paired up against a female in a big '74? Dodge, shes an old hand at this so I knew Id have to pull out all tbe stops. Took all the crap outta my trunk and removed the air cleaner, dropped the ET streets to 20psi after hearing them chirp at 22 on the last launch. I left as hard as I could and drove the throttle right through the firewall! She was really humming! I could hear and feel the big Dodge-monster chasing me down, I kept my right foot buried deep and drove it out the back door. I was certain I crossed the line first but when I picked up my slip I could see she had WIN...... Lady in the slip place said thats a hard way to lose... It dawned on me later that Id broke out, by running 13.78 But hey! thats a new Personal Best!
