I'm back hopefully full-time here. It was sometimes 2-3 weeks without logging on, but back to my multiple daily check-ins..

2 Major projects were completed and NO they were not my cars...House and Shop

I decided to downsize and get rid of all non-needed stuff and purchased a old smaller home and moved at the end of June to New Kensington (for those familiar) where I was originally born and raised. Went from 4 bed, 3.5 bath 2600 sq ft to 3 bed 1.5 bath and just at 1200 sq ft. The house I purchased was lived in by the same owners for 76 years. From July 1st to now I have been renovating the house. All new paint/plaster, all new receptacles and light fixtures, carpeting, floors, whole new kitchen remodel including appliances, fans, furniture etc and I just finished this past weekend the spare bedroom since it was storing most of my Buick stuff which got moved to my new shop. I never want to do this again, move or remodel.

Other than reducing costs as the first priority second was to finally build a dream type garage/shop that I could do anything in, waited 30+ years but it's done. I had not touched the car in over a year because putting together a car inside a 2 car internal garage with a support post was not happening so I decided to move and build a shop. It's 50x40 with 12' ceilings. I contracted out all the building work and it finally is finished and I am ready to get started on the car hopefully in the next weeks. Built a huge 16' workbench with leftover lumber and other than waiting on some sandblasting equipment and I am ready to go. Learned lots so if you got questions...let me know.

    Some pics of the build...

Nice shop, you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I just closed on the sale of my old oilfield shop in Odessa today and plan on building a shop in my side yard here in Abilene.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Nice shop. I would start covering the insulation on the walls before it gets damaged. Sounds crazy, but some that I know found out that the plastic gets torn eventually.

Thanks for all the comments, long time coming but I now have space.
That is the goal if I remember how to put it back together..lol

I originally had it sized at 64x40 but costs required me to reduce it.

That is the plan going forward but will have to wait awhile. For now white duct tape is my fix as it got damaged by concrete guys.

The floor, lighting etc on one side is designed for a two post lift. The concrete in that area is almost 6” and the power is ready for that area but it’s just costs right now. GS is the first priorty.

Congratulations. Those of us "getting old" appreciate the home downsize. Nice garage/shop. Looks familiar...used same overall pole structure for 24x32 goat/horse barn except T111, no metal...horses are dumb. Especially like ceiling...
