    Hi,
I picked up a new coil which says use with external resistor. Is this the one I need for my '72 Skylark 350-4?
My old one worked but was so old and filthy I didn't want it on the motor after I get done painting it.

The parts guy didn't know so I just picked one but after doing some research I'm not sure I should use it. I haven't found anything that tells me what to use. The car uses points...

    Thanks..

That should be correct; the factory wire (brown and pink I think?) from your switch should provide resistance while in ‘run’.

Thanks guys, once I get the motor back together I'll get the multimeter out and do some testing....

    Thanks,
