    CIT Poweraddict, help me

    You got yourself a HEI
You don't need anything else, just hook it up and go.
Might wanna bypass the resistorwire from the firewall connector to the distributor so it gets true 12 volts, to get the most out of it.

Yes, bypass/replace the resistor wire with a "real" wire. You can get the connector that goes in the fusebox from NAPA (I forget the part number). You shouldn't need one of the wires that goes from the starter to the coil, though I forget which one it is.

There is an adapter (MSD I think) that allows you to use an external coil, getting rid of the junk in-cap coil.

That is the distributor that ignites 200,000,000 GM cars (give or take a few). It is great for normal driving or even a mild hot rod. If you are a racer, you may want to upgrade to a better system.

I do not see the reason to get rid of a points system in a street car, especially one that is not driven too many miles. They are reliable and easy to maintain if anything should go wrong.

Why do you want/ need electronic ignition?

Go with the HEI. Car will run a lot better. Year one has a new pink wire with clip attached to replace the resistor wire. There is information in GS extra and http://www.buickperformance.com telling how to do the swap.
